About the Role

We are looking for an operational support team member who is versatile, good with people, is a self-starter, and has a high attention to detail. We are passionate about delivering a high-quality experience for our customers, and believe that having the right support for our internal team is a key part of that process. As such, this role has two major areas of responsibility in providing a layer of support to internal team members, as well as to external customers. As an early member of the Understory team, you will have the opportunity to help shape and define our culture and processes as we scale the business and team. You also will have the opportunity to grow with the business as the needs expand and work alongside an experienced, successful core leadership team.  

Customer Support Responsibilities

    • Serve as a 1st line of defense for troubleshooting customer service issues
    • Help execute on-boarding strategies that we are in process of establishing
    • Assist in keeping our knowledge base and support materials up-to-date
    • Provide a layer of one-on-one customer support through video conferencing
    • Assist customers in building course content in the Understory platform
 

Administrative Support Responsibilities

      • Assist in overall office management
      • Assist in organizing, planning, and scheduling meetings and appointments for executive team
      • Generate and distribute weekly revenue reports for customers
      • Generate monthly invoices for distribution to customers
      • Assist with light bookkeeping
 

Qualifications

      • 5+ years of relevant work experience
      • Attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
      • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of people
      • Proficiency in working with a variety of software applications – Google products, Microsoft Office products, video conferencing and screen-casting applications
      • Experience with QuickBooks accounting software is a plus
      • BS/BA degree
